Matthew Cuthbert (Richard Farnsworth) and his crotchety sister Marilla (Colleen Dewhurst) contact a local orphanage to request a young boy who might serve as a farmhand on their Prince Edward Island estate called Green Gables. But the Cuthberts are unpleasantly surprised when Anne (Megan Follows), a rebellious young redhead, arrives at their doorstep instead of a boy. Anne struggles to adjust. The picture itself is the best I have ever seen of Anne of Green Gables. Not much in the 5.1 DD, but is very nice and clear. The colors are correct, very sharp there is some grain if you look extremely close, but I am sure that is the way it was shot on the 35mm print.
